Independence Blue Cross (IBX) welcomed the Greater Philadelphia Business Coalition on Health (GPBCH) Member Soirée at Independence LIVE on February 18. The event gathered regional employers, health care leaders, and industry partners to talk about value, affordability, and innovation in health care.
The networking event marked the first GPBCH member event hosted by IBX and drew about 75 attendees. Guests included HR and benefits executives from major employers across the region, affiliate members such as consultants and solutions vendors, and IBX sales and executive leaders.
The program featured opening remarks from GPBCH President and CEO Tom Belmont and IBX Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Dr. Rich Snyder, followed by a moderated discussion with IBX leaders focused on product offerings, pharmacy and clinical developments, and IBX’s perspective as both a health insurer and a large regional employer.
“GPBCH creates an important forum for employers to learn from one another and tackle shared challenges around health care affordability and value. IBX is pleased to host this event and engage directly with other employers on the issues that matter most to all of us,” said Dr. Snyder.
GPBCH is a regional employer coalition established in 2012 to drive value and innovation in health care across the Greater Philadelphia region, Delaware, and Southern New Jersey. IBX is the only organization that holds both employer and affiliate membership in the coalition.
