Susan Larkin, executive vice president and chief commercial officer at Independence Health Group, parent company of Independence Blue Cross, was named as one of Philadelphia Business Journal’s 2025 Women of Influence honorees.
Larkin is among 28 Women of Influence winners selected from hundreds of nominees. Recipients were chosen based on their power to leave a lasting impression on Philadelphia.
As a client-focused and strategic leader, Larkin has been a driving force behind Independence Health Group’s remarkable growth and success. Since joining the company, she has played an integral role in building a strong, customer-centric brand.
In addition to her strategic contributions, Larkin has championed the company’s commitment to comprehensive women’s health and family planning. She has overseen the development of benefits, services, and product options designed to address unique challenges such as fertility, maternity, and midlife/menopause, ensuring that members receive the highest level of support throughout all stages of life.
Larkin is an executive sponsor for the Women of Independence (WOI) associate resource group. She established a series called “Lunch Line” to foster professional development and connections among the associates. In addition, Larkin was appointed to the Widener School of Business Administration Dean’s Advisory Council and further recognized for her outstanding contributions and leadership when she was welcomed to the Widener University Board of Trustees.
This year’s honorees will be celebrated at an event on October 15 and profiled in a special print edition of the Philadelphia Business Journal.
