On May 14, Independence Blue Cross (IBX) joined the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia (BCGP) to celebrate people who bike at Philadelphia’s annual Bike to Work and Wherever Day. IBX is the presenting sponsor of Philly’s 2025 Bike Month, which includes Bike to Work Day.
Cyclists were invited to join one of five bike trains leaving from various locations in Philadelphia. The rides culminated at a press event at City Hall where IBX, BCGP, and City representatives celebrated cycling as transport and emphasized the need to create safer streets for bicyclists and pedestrians.
IBX Manager of Sales Farah Newcomb spoke about IBX’s 85+ year commitment to health and well-being and shared examples of the fitness-focused initiatives that the company supports.
Other speakers included:
- Bicycle Coalition Executive Director Chris Gale
- State Senator Nikil Saval
