Independence Blue Cross (IBX) sponsored the Preston & Steve Camp Out for Hunger, an annual initiative to collect non-perishable food items for Philabundance to support those in need. Koleen Cavanaugh, senior vice president and chief marketing officer at IBX, presented a donation during a live radio interview on December 3.
The weeklong event, held from December 2-6 in the parking lot of the Wells Fargo Center, featured day-long radio broadcasts, carnival rides, games, and giveaways. Since its launch in 1998, Camp Out for Hunger has donated more than 24 million pounds of food, making it the largest single site food drive in the country.
IBX has had a longstanding partnership with Philabundance, providing volunteer and financial support to address food insecurity. Through the Blue Crew volunteer program, IBX associates have contributed nearly 400 hours of their time to Philabundance in 2023 and 2024.
