The Philadelphia Tribune and Independence Blue Cross (IBX) are continuing their Our Community. Our Health. public health campaign to address health disparities in the African American community as well as systemic issues that may impede positive health outcomes. This new phase focuses on vaccines, heart disease and high blood pressure, diabetes, and maternal health. The campaign will reach the African American community in Philadelphia through print ads, social media, videos, and articles featured in The Philadelphia Tribune, the oldest African American newspaper in Philadelphia.

This phase will feature two new ambassadors:

  • Doug Oliver, Senior Vice President of Governmental, Regulatory and External Affairs, PECO
  • Rev. Kevin Johnson, Founder and Lead Pastor, Dare to Imagine Church

It will also feature four previous ambassadors:

  • Ashley Jordan, President and CEO, African American Museum
  • William Carter, Vice President of Local Government Affairs, The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia
  • Angela Val, President and CEO, Visit Philadelphia
  • Charisse R. Lillie, CEO, CRL Consulting, LLC

All Our Community. Our Health. campaign ambassadors are strong leaders within the community and support the mission of empowering African Americans with accurate information and approachable solutions.

The Philadelphia Tribune and IBX initially launched the campaign in November 2020.
