Independence Blue Cross names Tony Toury VP of Total Rewards

Independence Blue Cross (Independence) announced that Tony Toury has joined the organization as Vice President, Total Rewards.

Mr. Toury brings more than a decade of experience in human resources, with a focus on total rewards. At Independence, Mr. Toury will oversee the compensation and benefits programs. He will lead efforts to innovate and enhance recognition programs to attract, support, and retain talented associates.

Tony’s experience will help Independence continue to enhance our already strong reputation as one of the top places to work in our region and beyond,” said Crystal Ashby, executive vice president, chief people, DEI, and communications officer at Independence.

Mr. Toury is joining Independence from Veolia Water Technologies and Solutions, where he served as Global Leader of Total Rewards. There, he was responsible for developing and implementing the company’s total rewards strategy, policies, and programs for its more than 10,000 employees globally. He implemented numerous innovations and improvements in the areas of compensation, benefits, well-being, and recognition while also ensuring these programs aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.

Prior to his role at Veolia, Mr. Toury was Director of Rewards with Willis Towers Watson, where he focused on developing compensation and total rewards designs for global Fortune 1000 companies.

Mr. Toury holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Hunter College, City University of New York.
