Tandigm Health CEO speaks at 2014 CONVERGE Summit for health care innovation

Anthony Coletta, M.D., shares new approach to solving the Philadelphia health care challenge

Philadelphia, PA – Tandigm Health President and CEO Anthony Coletta, M.D., joined national industry leaders today at MedCity’s third annual CONVERGE Summit, which takes place July 15 and 16, as part of a speaker series on the future of health care innovation. Dr. Coletta discussed some of the biggest challenges and opportunities in health care at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

During a panel discussion, Dr. Coletta discussed how the Philadelphia region is challenged by being one of the largest and most expensive health care markets in the United States and how the region has begun embracing physician-led coordinated care models to help improve quality, reduce excess waste, costs, and inefficiencies in the health system. Dr. Coletta went on to describe how health plans are helping to transform health care through the roll out of such innovative alliances like Tandigm Health.

“We believe that Tandigm Health represents the future of health care delivery,” said Dr. Coletta, president and CEO of Tandigm Health, during his remarks. “We are excited to work in tandem with primary care physicians in the Philadelphia area to create a new paradigm of high quality, affordable health care by providing them with the tools and support they need to better manage difficult chronic conditions and deliver more personalized, high-quality care.”

Tandigm Health, is a unique joint venture, based in Philadelphia, Pa., that will help deliver high-quality, affordable care to the region by combining the expertise of one of the country’s largest, most innovative Blue insurers—Philadelphia-based Independence Blue Cross—and a nationally recognized pioneer of physician-centric coordinated care—California-based HealthCare Partners, a division of DaVita HealthCare Partners.
