Susan Larkin, EVP and president of Core Commercial Markets, represented Independence Blue Cross (IBX) at a Philadelphia Business Journal panel focused on “The Future of Health Care Insurance.”
Philadelphia Business Journal senior reporter John George moderated the discussion about how COVID, telehealth, health system stability, and competition are changing the industry for health plans and employers. Larkin was joined by leaders from other national and regional insurers.
Larkin emphasized Independence’s position as Philadelphia’s hometown health insurer for 85 years and how the company is innovating to support customers, members, and health system partners throughout the region. We’ve created programs you can count on and relationships you can believe in.
“We’ve got the products and we’ve got the services in this market. Our employees are here. They live in the community, they work in the community, they play in the community. We believe that health care is local and it is leveraged nationally, and we have the boots on the ground that are going to enable us, the same way that we’ve competed in the past, to continue to evolve and continue to compete,” Larkin said during the discussion.
The event attracted nearly 100 attendees, including many Independence associates.
