Independence Blue Cross (Independence) sponsored the sixth annual Greater Philadelphia Summit on Business Impact and Volunteerism hosted by the Main Line Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber’s signature event highlighted how the region’s major sports team give back to the region and make a positive difference.

Representatives from the Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, Sixers, and the Union shared their strategies for impact in a panel moderated by Bernie Dagenais, president and CEO of the Main Line Chamber of Commerce. Daniel J. Hilferty, CEO of Comcast Spectacor and the previous president and CEO of Independence, provided introductory remarks at the March 30 event.

Lorina Marshall-Blake, vice president of Community Affairs at Independence and president of the Independence Blue Cross Foundation, presented the Main Line Chamber of Commerce Regional Leadership Award to the Eagles Care Foundation for its work around the Super Bowl. Ryan Hammond, executive director at Eagles Cares Foundation, accepted the award.
