
Steve Fera, executive vice president of Public Affairs at Independence Blue Cross (Independence) participated in a virtual panel discussion hosted by the Urban Affairs Coalition on March 16.
The panel brought local public health leaders together to discuss issues impacting community health in Philadelphia. Fera shared statistics to show how African Americans are disproportionately impacted by the pandemic, have lower life expectancy rates, more severe maternal health risks, and higher rates of overdoses. He shared Independence’s strong belief that partnerships are fuel for change.
