Statement from Independence Health Group President and CEO Daniel J. Hilferty on cost-sharing reduction payments

Philadelphia, PA — Statement from Daniel J. Hilferty, president and CEO of Independence Health Group, about President Trump’s announcement that the federal government will stop cost-sharing reduction payments.

“We understand that many of our members may have questions about their health insurance coverage and how it will be impacted by the changes to cost-sharing reduction payments announced by the Trump administration. Cost-sharing reductions provide important financial assistance to working and middle-class families to help pay their out-of-pocket costs when they go to the doctor or hospital.

We want to assure our members that their coverage remains in effect and unchanged. We are currently evaluating what this announcement may mean for individual consumer plans in the future.”

Note: Open Enrollment this year begins on November 1, 2017, and ends on December 15, 2017.
