Independence Blue Cross (IBX) Senior Vice President of Health Services and Chief Medical Officer Rodrigo Cerdá, M.D., joined digital health care experts from across the country at the ViVE 2024 event.

Cerdá was a panelist in the “Value-Based Care Going for the Leading Role” session moderated by Ben Belford, vice president at Valtruis. He was joined by Alice Hm Chen, M.D, M.P.H., chief health officer at Centene Corporation; Sujal Mandavia, M.D., chief medical officer at Carbon Health; and Tamra Ryumann, chief of Digital Health at Physicians of Southwest Washington.

The panelists discussed the benefits that value-based care presents to both patients and health care organizations. They debunked the myth that this care model does not generate as much revenue. This multifaceted approach puts a focus on preventative health, reduces operational costs, enhances overall care coordination among providers and strengthens patient loyalty, elevating the reputation of the business.

The event took place Feb. 25-28 in Los Angeles, California.
