Philadelphia magazine names Independence CEO Greg Deavens among most influential

Independence Blue Cross (Independence) President and CEO Gregory E. Deavens was recognized by Philadelphia magazine on its 2022 list of 100 Most Influential People in Philadelphia.

Deavens was ranked № 5 among the list of business leaders, elected officials, athletes, entertainers, and others who the magazine identified as people who will guide the city through tumultuous changes.

The magazine called Deavens a “Changemaker,” citing his role in spearheading Accelerate Health Equity, an initiative to combat racial and social disparities to achieve measurable, positive changes in health outcomes in Philadelphia. He also initiated collaboration with and Cayaba Care to address maternal health equity challenges.

Philadelphia magazine included Deavens in its 76 Most Influential list in 2021. Earlier this year, Savoy magazine named Deavens one of the most influential Black executives in corporate America.
