
Independence Health Group (Independence) announced that Patrick Yung has been appointed senior vice president of Corporate Development and Strategic Investing.
In his new role, Yung will lead efforts to manage and grow Independence’s portfolio of strategic innovation and other investments through partnerships, strategic alignment, and selective acquisitions. Yung reports to Gregory E. Deavens, chief financial officer at Independence.
Yung joined Independence in 2018. He brings more than 20 years of strategic investing and general management experience from leading payor, provider, health care IT, and institutional funds. Prior to joining Independence, he has held senior executive roles and scaled up businesses with UnitedHealth Group, CIGNA Healthcare, ConnectiCare, and Bain Capital Ventures. He began his career at Deloitte.
Yung received his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
