Independence Blue Cross urges consumers to look at their plan options before the open enrollment deadline
Philadelphia, PA — December 13, 2019 —With the Open Enrollment deadline quickly approaching, Independence Blue Cross (Independence) is out in the community helping consumers enroll in the plan that is right for them. Individual consumers have until Sunday, December 15, 2019, to enroll in a health plan if they want health care coverage for 2020.
For 2020, Independence is offering the most health plan options for consumers in the Philadelphia five-county region. Independence is the only insurer offering health plans both on and off the Marketplace across all metallic levels. Independence is also the only insurer offering Silver level plans with no deductible, regardless of income, when members use preferred providers.
For information on how to enroll or help with an application, consumers can reach Independence through:
The Independence Express
Through the end of Open Enrollment, the insurer’s mobile education and retail center, the Independence Express, will be located at the Bala Cynwyd Shopping Center at 59 East City Avenue in Bala Cynwyd. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Saturday, and from 12 noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, December 15.
On the phone
Independence licensed sales agents are available by phone at 1-888-475-6206 to answer questions and help consumers enroll in health care coverage from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. through December 15.
Online
Independence’s easy-to-use website — ibx4you.com — can help consumers find the health care coverage that is right for them and enroll in health insurance either on or off-exchange. The website includes a subsidy estimator that allows consumers who obtain health insurance from the Marketplace to see if they may qualify for financial assistance to help pay for their health care coverage. The Federally Facilitated Marketplace will make the final determination of eligibility for a premium tax credit subsidy.
For Spanish-speaking consumers, Independence has licensed Spanish-speaking sales agents available by phone at 1-844-315-4884 and materials available in Spanish at ibx4you.com/mas.
