The Philadelphia Tribune and Independence Blue Cross (IBX) recently launched the next phase of the Our Community. Our Health. public health campaign. Since its launch in November 2020, we continue to highlight health disparities in the African American community as well as systemic issues that may impede positive health outcomes.
The latest phase focuses on heart disease and high blood pressure, diabetes, maternal health, and vaccines. The campaign will reach the African American community in Philadelphia through print ads, social media, videos, and articles featured in The Philadelphia Tribune, the oldest continuously published African American newspaper in the nation.
The fall campaign introduces two new ambassadors:
- Ala Stanford, Founder, Black Doctors Consortium, Center for Health Equity, and R.E.A.L. Concierge Medicine and Professor, University of Pennsylvania
- Nicole Allen, Chief Operating Officer, Welcome America Inc.
It will also feature four previous ambassadors:
- Douglas I. Oliver, Senior Vice President of Governmental, Regulatory and External Affairs, PECO
- Charisse R. Lillie, CEO, CRL Consulting, LLC
- Leroy D. Nunery II, president, Evolution Advisors LLC
- Joe H. Tucker, Jr., Esq., founder and CEO, Tucker Law Group
All Our Community. Our Health. campaign ambassadors are strong leaders within the community and support the mission of empowering African Americans with accurate information and approachable solutions.
