Nominations accepted through May 24; Winners will receive a $2,500 donation to a nonprofit of their choice
For the eighth year, Independence Blue Cross (IBX) is proud to spotlight the region’s top nurses through the Celebrate Caring campaign!
Members of the community can help IBX recognize those special nurses whose caring changes lives by submitting nominations at ibx.com/nurses starting now through May 24.
Award winners
IBX will select and announce three winners who will receive the Sunshine Award, named in memory of Paula Sunshine, former IBX senior vice president and chief marketing officer. Sunshine was instrumental in creating the Celebrate Caring campaign and advancing its mission to honor nurses who go above and beyond.
Each Sunshine Award recipient is recognized for commitment to delivering compassionate care, serving their community, and demonstrating innovation in their work.
In addition, IBX will:
- Make a $2,500 donation to a nonprofit of each winning nurse’s choice
- Present each winner with a $500 gift card and Phillies tickets
- Host them at a celebratory event in their honor
How to get involved
Go to ibx.com/nurses via desktop or mobile to fill out a short submission form. You’ll be asked to submit:
- The nurse’s name and workplace – IBX welcomes nominations for nurses working in a variety of settings across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.
- Your name and relationship to the nurse – Are you a grateful patient, supportive coworker, adoring partner, proud family member, or good friend? Let us know!
- A brief description of why the nurse should be selected – Speak from the heart and share what stands out to you about this person and why they should be selected.
In August, IBX will introduce the 2026 Celebrate Caring winners! Follow and engage with IBX on social media using #CelebrateCaring.

Hundreds of nurses work at IBX in departments throughout the organization to help members navigate their health care needs and provide care management support.
