Independence Blue Cross Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Dr. Richard Snyder has been recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of the 50 Most Influential Clinical Executives for 2025. This recognition honors individuals in executive roles who are acknowledged by Modern Healthcare senior editors and selected for their exceptional achievements in driving innovation, improving outcomes, serving their communities, and demonstrating exemplary leadership both within and beyond their organizations.

In his current role, Dr. Snyder is accountable for IBX’s medical management and contracting, government and commercial markets, information technology, operations, marketing, public affairs, and sales. He has been instrumental in leading IBX’s efforts to redefine care delivery and promote equitable, whole-person health.
This is Dr. Snyder’s first Modern Healthcare recognition. He has previously received several regional accolades, including the 2023 Heart of Philadelphia award from the American Heart Association, the Leadership Legacy Award from the American Heart Association Eastern States Region, and the Leaders in Healthcare honor from the Philadelphia Business Journal.
