Independence Blue Cross (IBX) was honored by the Delaware County Veterans Memorial Association for its commitment to veterans. Mitch Vidovich, IBX vice president of Government Affairs, accepted the Business Award on behalf of the organization at the 10th Annual Freedom Medal Dinner on Nov. 14 in Springfield.

“At IBX, we are proud to support veterans and current members of the military who are our colleagues, family members, friends, and neighbors in the communities we serve,” said Mitch Vidovich, IBX vice president of Government Affairs.

IBX and the Independence Blue Cross Foundation are deeply committed to supporting veterans through a variety of initiatives, including the IBX Foundation Service Scholars Program, the IVets Associate Resource Group, and targeted recruitment and acquisition efforts for veteran employees. These programs are designed to assist veterans in their transition back to civilian life, while also enhancing their professional development and career opportunities.

Eight individuals were also recognized at the event. The Association created the Delaware County Veterans Memorial in Newtown Square in 2013 as a tribute to the men and women across Delaware County who have served in the United States military.
