IBX Blue Crew gives back during National Volunteer Week

By April 25, 2024Featured Volunteerism

Independence Blue Cross (IBX) celebrated National Volunteer Week (April 21-27), joining millions across the nation who generously dedicated their time and talents to serving others.

This year, the company hosted a series of week-long events to recognize its Blue Crew corporate volunteers and help all IBX associates learn more about volunteer opportunities in the region. This included a Volunteer Recognition Lunch honoring top volunteers from 2023 with IBX senior executives, an open house to support eight area nonprofits, and volunteer activities held at Peter’s Place, MANNA, Cradles to Crayons and Project HOME’s Hub of Hope.

Beyond the spotlight of National Volunteer Week, IBX is committed to service year-round through ongoing volunteer projects. Nearly 1,600 Blue Crew volunteers dedicated upwards of 6,200 hours in 2023, valued at roughly $200,000 by The Independent Sector. 107 associates donated an extra 5,112 hours to individual volunteer endeavors, including board service and pro-bono consulting.
