Lorina Marshall-Blake receives 2018 emPOWer award from EducationWorks

Lorina Marshall-Blake accepts the 2018 emPOWer Award presented by Miles Wilson, president and CEO of EducationWorks, and Stephan Roker, VP, Executive Projects, AmeriHealth Caritas and Vice-Chair of the Education Works Board of Directors.

Lorina Marshall-Blake, president of the Independence Blue Cross Foundation (Foundation) and vice president of Community Affairs for Independence Blue Cross (Independence), received the 2018 emPOWer award from EducationWorks for her commitment to building healthy communities where children and young adults feel inspired to dream big―regardless of their zip codes.

Independence has been a supporter of EducationWorks for nearly 20 years. The nonprofit organization works directly with community and school leaders to serve over 12,000 students annually through academic support, career readiness, and enrichment programming.

As president of the Foundation, Marshall-Blake has partnered with EducationWorks to strengthen its impact throughout the Greater Philadelphia region. She was presented with the award at EducationWorks’ annual emPOWer Benefit, held at the Center for Architecture & Design in Philadelphia, on May 23, 2018.
