Two local eighth-graders gaining national attention for award-winning inventions — CBS3 Philly

The Independence Blue Cross Center for Innovation hosted an interactive and fast-paced discussion with two teens who showed their STEM award-winning inventions at Independence. Alaina Gassler won the grand prize with her invention to improve automobile safety by removing blind spots. Rachel Bergey also presented her invention which was a spotted lanternfly trap made of tinfoil and netting.

Both local innovators recently won top prizes in the Broadcom Math, Applied Science, Technology and Engineering for Rising Stars competition before presenting at Independence. CBS3 Philly covered the event.
