Juan Lopez, executive vice president, chief financial officer, and treasurer at Independence Blue Cross (IBX), was honored at the Hispanic Heritage Month Gala on October 12.
The gala, organized by Hispanic Media, LLC (El Sol), celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month and feted the outstanding contributions of the Latino community in Philadelphia.
At IBX, Lopez actively supports the company’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts as an executive sponsor for the Latino Associate Resource Group, Latinos con Propósito. He is also a member of IBX’s Leadership Development Advisory Council, which focuses on developing next generation talent.
Lopez is known throughout the community for his board work with organizations such as FIFA World Cup 2026 Philadelphia; Fred’s Footsteps; Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School; and Providence Center and Esperanza, two nonprofits serving the North Philadelphia Latino community.
In 2017, Lopez was honored with Al Día’s Hispanic Heritage Month Pillar of Leadership Award, which recognizes Latino leadership in Philadelphia’s business community. In 2023, he was recognized by the Philadelphia Business Journal as one of its CFO of the Year honorees.
