For the third consecutive year, Independence Blue Cross (Independence) will serve as title sponsor for the annual Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) Wellness Fest. This year the Wellness Fest will be held virtually with attendees joining by phone, tablet or computer on Saturday, September 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The PCOM Wellness Fest is designed to inspire fun and promote healthy living. Attendees of the online event will experience many of the same things they’ve come to love from past Wellness Fests: Free, interactive health and wellness speakers, fitness classes, cooking demonstrations and more. In addition, Independence CEO Daniel J. Hilferty will welcome all attendees via a pre-taped video message.
Wellness Fest session topics include:
- Nutrition Label Reading Made Easy
- Treating and Preventing Quarantine Aches and Pains
- Black Minds Matter: Overcoming the Stigma of Mental Health Help-Seeking
- Roundtable Talk About Women and Heart Disease with Dr. Maribel Hernandez
Attendees of the virtual event can visit the Independence exhibitor booth to learn how the company is supporting members and the community at-large during the COVID-19 pandemic and all year long.
