Stephen P. Fera, senior vice president of Public Affairs for Independence Blue Cross, served as Honorary Chair at the 58th Annual Louis Braille Awards, hosted by the Associated Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired (ASB) at the Rittenhouse Hotel.

ASB is a nonprofit that promotes independence and self-determination for people who are blind or visually impaired. This year’s Louis Braille Awards raised record levels of funds, which will go to support the ASB in fulfilling their mission.

The awards ceremony honored two people whose outstanding achievements serve as an inspiration for others living with a visual disability: Jack Chen, a Google patent lawyer, and Stash Serfin, an award-winning figure skater.

In his remarks, Fera underscored the importance of organizations like ASB in strengthening our communities and helping people achieve well-being.
