Eight promising early-stage health companies will present their business cases to a group of more than 120 potential customers, investors, business partners, and others at the fifth Dreamit Health Demo Day. Sponsored by Dreamit, Independence Blue Cross, (Independence) and Penn Medicine, Dreamit Health is a business accelerator program now in its fifth year that provides funds and mentoring to attract the best and brightest minds to our region to implement big ideas that solve critical health issues. This year’s group, selected from more than 300 applicants, includes solutions focused on the hospital, the physician’s office, and in-home patient monitoring and support.
Demo Day kicked off with an informal fireside chat with Dreamit Chief Innovation Officer Steve Barsch, Independence Executive Vice President Rick Neeson, and Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer for the University of Pennsylvania Health System Kevin Mahoney. Neeson spoke about Independence’s focus on innovation and creative partnerships, and the recent results from a pilot program Independence and Penn Medicine are supporting with 2014 Dreamit Health graduate Towerview Health.
For the first time, Dreamit will be livestreaming the Demo Day.
