
Executives at the insurer join former Eagles Head Coach Dick Vermeil, soap opera star Genie Francis, and Inquirer journalists at the event
On Saturday, October 13, Independence Blue Cross proudly served as presenting sponsor of the Philadelphia Inquirer’s 55+Thrive Lifestyle Conference. Former NFL Head Coach Dick Vermeil joined soap opera star Genie Francis as well as leaders from Independence and Inquirer writers and editors at the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown for a day of workshops, entertainment, and a shopping marketplace for boomers and beyond.
At the conference, Independence Medical Director and Geriatrician Dr. Heidi Syropoulos helped lead a panel discussion titled “Get your Medicare questions answered” with Inquirer Health Editor Charlotte Sutton. Francis shared her experience on the hit show General Hospital, her weight loss with Nutrisystem, and family life in her talk, “Anything But General: Writing New Chapters for a 55 Lifestyle,” which was introduced by Independence Chief Marketing Executive Paula Sunshine. Vermeil spoke about his experiences as a coach, a health ambassador, and now, wine vintner for Vermeil Wines.
