Independence Blue Cross was recently presented with the 2017 Blue Cross Blue Shield Association Federal Employee Program (FEP®) Plan Excellence Award, which celebrates Blue Plans that achieve excellent scores in a variety of categories including member satisfaction and managing medical and administrative costs.
In addition to the Plan Excellence Award, for the sixth consecutive year, Independence earned the BCBSA Service Excellence Award. The award acknowledges excellence in various service areas including claims processing, resolving inquiries and appeals, and telephone responsiveness.
“It is thrilling to see our team’s hard work recognized and rewarded,” said Nicole Gold, VP Operations Customer Service and Client Setup. “Maintaining this level of service is a testament to our commitment in making sure all our members have the best possible customer experience.”
The Federal Employee Program provides health insurance to active and retired employees of the federal government under the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP). Through FEHBP, the government negotiates health insurance plans with a variety of insurers. Federal employees then choose which plan best fits their needs.
