Independence provides members access to emotional wellness app at no cost

Award-winning resource helps users build the emotional strength to handle whatever comes their way

Philadelphia, PA — April 14, 2020 —  At this stressful time, Independence Blue Cross (Independence) is offering members access to an award-winning emotional wellness app, Stop, Breathe & Think, at no cost until June 14, 2020. The app provides effective ways to alleviate feelings of anxiety, reduce stress, and find peace of mind.

Stop, Breathe & Think allows users to check in with how they are feeling and recommends short activities and guided meditations based on those emotions. The app is appropriate for people who may not have much experience with mindfulness and meditation, including children and young adults.

Stop, Breathe & Think is now available for all commercial members, including those in individual and fully insured plans. Self-funded customers can also extend this offer to their employees.  The initial free offer from Independence is for the premium version of the app. When the trial is over, members have free access to the standard offering of 30 tracks and can subscribe to the premium content at a discounted rate.

Independence is also helping members with anxiety and stress related to the COVID-19 pandemic by offering telemedicine coverage for behavioral health, online cognitive behavior therapy modules, and stress reduction and improved sleep modules on Achieve Well-Being. Independence is also offering a comprehensive COVID-19 Preparedness Tool developed by Quil, a digital health venture of Independence and Comcast.
