Runners gather outside of Independence LIVE for a three-mile run as part of their Blue Cross Broad Street Run training.
Independence Blue Cross (Independence), City Fit Girls, and Run215 hosted a group run to help people prepare for next month’s Blue Cross Broad Street Run. Runners of all paces met at Independence LIVE before heading to the Schuylkill River Trail for the three-mile run. After, participants were invited back to LIVE for a group stretch, tips for race day, and recommendations for avoiding injury.
Representatives from Honest Tea, American Cancer Society, Leukemia Lymphoma Society, Philly Runner, CoreFitness LLC, and Trishmoves protein bars — as well as massage therapists and running nutritionists — were onsite with information and samples. The event was free for all participants.
Over 40,000 runners are set to take on the 2018 Blue Cross Broad Street Run on Sunday, May 6. The annual event is the country’s largest 10-mile run.
