Independence Blue Cross once again celebrated the holiday season with students and faculty at the Isaac A. Sheppard Elementary School in Philadelphia, delivering gifts to nearly 200 students, as well as contributing new winter coats to the school’s Lending Box program. The holiday celebration culminates another year of community partnership between the school and Independence, which includes initiatives like Philadelphia Reads, Reading is Fun, Philadelphia Cares, and the Good Skates Program.

Donna Crilley Farrell, vice president of Corporate Communications at Independence, presented Principal Elana Galli with a corporate donation which will allow the school to create parent resource room. In addition, Independence Carolers led students in a sing-a-long, and Santa presented each student with a gift on their wish-list.

“Independence is incredibly proud to be a part of the Sheppard School family,” said Crilley Farrell. “Our holiday celebration, which brings so much joy to the students, is always a great way to end the year.” Independence has partnered with the Sheppard School for over 30 years.
