Independence interns volunteer their Friday for Broad Street Ministry

On Friday, February 17, Independence Blue Cross interns from our Co-op program volunteered at the Broad Street Ministry (BSM) in Center City Philadelphia by hosting the BSM dining room and serving meals. They also helped to organize donations to the center’s clothing closet and put together personal care packages for the guests.

Eleven students from the Co-op program participated at BSM. These talented college students spend six months at Independence gaining valuable professional development experience and practical training in their field of study.

BSM is a Christian community in Center City Philadelphia. As part of the organization’s mission it serves families who are low-income, homeless, or at risk of being homeless.
