Independence focuses on fitness and health with Be Well Philly

Independence proudly joined Be Well Philly on Saturday, June 3 to sponsor the popular Be Well Philly Boot Camp. Billed as the “ultimate health and fitness event for women,” the all-day experience is geared to motivate, educate, and empower women to get healthy and fit.

The day included group fitness classes, speakers, chef-led cooking demos, marketplace vendors, and more — all held at the Drexel University Recreation Center.

Our own VP of Corporate Communications, Donna Farrell, spoke during the Empower Hour about Independence’s corporate mission and commitment to the community before introducing keynote speaker and author, Laura Vanderkam.

Our support of Be Well Philly not only includes the Boot Camp event, but also the Be Well Health Hero Challenge, which recognizes champions of health and wellness who are making the Philadelphia region a healthier, happier place to be. The Health Hero Challenge winner receives a $10,000 donation to charity of his/her choice, and three runners-up receive $2,500 donation to charity.

Nominations for the Be Well Health Hero Challenge are open now and will run to July 5.
