Independence Blue Cross (Independence) President and CEO Gregory E. Deavens and Executive Vice President of Public Affairs Stephen P. Fera have been named to the City & State PA’s Pennsylvania Healthcare Power 100 list.

City & State PA spotlighted Deavens’ work in supporting health equity, initiatives that boost COVID-19 vaccination efforts, and efforts to address the high cost of prescription drugs. The list noted that Fera leads Independence’s government and community affairs and health policy initiatives.

The Pennsylvania Healthcare Power 100 list recognizes public officials, health care executives, innovators, academics, advocates, and activists who have steered Pennsylvania’s health care landscape and are working to find solutions to various health care issues such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The list is published in the July 2021 issue of the magazine.

Earlier this year, Deavens was named to City & State PA’s PA Power 100 list.
