Brian Lobley, president of Commercial and Consumer Markets at Independence Blue Cross, recently joined Don Mathis, general manager of Growth at Comcast NBCUniversal, for a mainstage panel on the power of collaboration at the annual Consumer Experience & Digital Health Forum hosted by America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP). Over 500 health professionals from across the country attended the conference.

In a session called “How Non-Traditional and Traditional Players are Transforming Health Care,” Lobley and Mathis discussed how a partnership between Independence and Comcast resulted in Quil, a new patient-centered technology and communications platform that empowers individuals with customized health-related content through multiple digital channels.

During the session, Lobley and Mathis talked about how the partnership started and the joint goals to leverage data efficiently and create a truly personalized experience for consumers. They also explored the challenges and opportunities that stem from bringing together a global media and technology company with a leading health insurance company.
