Independence brings holiday magic to Sheppard School

Independence Blue Cross (IBX) celebrated the holiday season by delivering toys, school supplies, coats, hats, and gloves to students at the Isaac A. Sheppard Elementary School, the company’s adopted Philadelphia public school.

With help from Cristo Rey Philadelphia High School students who are part of Independence’s work-study internship program, the organization purchased and delivered the items in time for winter break. Sheppard School teachers and staff will help distribute the items to each student.

For more than 30 years, Independence has provided the Sheppard School with year-round support in the form of sponsorship and volunteerism.
