Becker’s Hospital Review noted that Dr. Rodrigo Cerdá, vice president of Clinical Care Transformation at Independence Blue Cross (Independence), participated in a panel discussion about COVID-19 and telemedicine at the Becker’s Healthcare Payer Issues Virtual Summit on August 3.
Cerdá said that Independence was an early adopter of telemedicine and had seen a significant uptick in virtual visits. During the conversation, he added:
“…almost 60 percent of primary care physician and behavioral health visits were done through telemedicine in the period of March to May.”
