Philadelphia, PA — January 22, 2020 — Independence Blue Cross (Independence) joins the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) as an exclusive sponsor of the 2020 Philadelphia Flower Show. As the leading health insurance organization in southeastern Pennsylvania, Independence supports PHS’s year-round efforts to create beautiful, healthy, and sustainable communities.
“We are thrilled to be part of an iconic Philadelphia institution like the Flower Show,” said Daphne Klausner, Independence senior vice president, Senior Markets. “Independence proudly serves nearly three million people in this region, including a robust senior community. We’re committed to promoting a healthy lifestyle for everyone, as well as a strong sense of community and a connection to nature — all of which are in abundance at the Flower Show.”
This year’s Flower Show theme is “Riviera Holiday.” Visitors to the Flower Show can expect to be immersed in the sights, scents, and tastes of the Mediterranean region.
Independence will sponsor two distinct experiences for Flower Show guests:
Green spaces help people slow down, breathe more deeply, and discover inner peace. With these benefits in mind, the interactive Independence display invites visitors to enjoy a moment of calm by choosing which of two gardens brings them the most peace of mind. Visitors can snap a selfie to remind them to connect with nature to improve physical and mental well-being.
Independence will also sponsor The Lemonary, an interpretation of a lemon orchard. The Lemonary is being designed by Wayward, an award-winning group of designers, artists, and urban growers based in London.
The PHS Philadelphia Flower Show is the nation’s largest and longest-running horticultural event and features stunning displays by the world’s premier floral and landscape designers.
