Independence Blue Cross (Independence), the leading health insurance organization in southeastern Pennsylvania, has hired Jill Michal as vice president of sales services and client experience. Michal was previously the president and chief executive officer of the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey from 2008 to 2014.
As vice president of sales services and client experience, Michal will create and execute the overall sales and marketing systems, processes, and operational strategies to help achieve the company’s sales objectives. Michal will report to Brian Lobley, senior vice president of marketing and consumer business.
Prior to serving as president and chief executive officer of the United Way, Michal was the chief financial officer and executive vice president, finance and operations, of the United Way. Before joining the nonprofit sector, Michal held management roles at Arthur Andersen, LLP.
