Independence Blue Cross and Lehigh Valley Health Network announce multi-year contract

Philadelphia – December 21, 2016 – In a shared commitment to improve the quality and affordability of health care in Pennsylvania, Independence Blue Cross (Independence) and Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) have signed a new multi-year contract.

“The new multi-year contract demonstrates how much we value our long-standing relationship with Lehigh Valley Health Network and how committed we are to providing high-quality, patient-centered care to our members,” said Anthony Coletta, M.D., MBA, executive vice president of Independence. “The relationships we have with health systems like Lehigh Valley Health Network are about building collaborations that transform how we care for the patients we serve.”

The new contract, which went into effect on October 1, 2016, offers Independence members continued access to covered services at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Allentown, Lehigh Valley Hospital – Muhlenberg, and the physicians and ancillary providers they employ.
