Independence Blue Cross leads discussion on health care innovation

By December 21, 2016July 9th, 2020Innovation

Speaking to thousands of investors, entrepreneurs, business leaders, students, and health care professionals from around the nation and world, this year Independence Blue Cross (Independence) has helped lead and shape the discussion about health care innovation.

At more than 40 industry conferences like Converge and PACT Digital Health in Philadelphia, SXSW in Austin, the annual Society for Human Resource Management conference in D.C, and the Corporate Venture Capital Delegation in Moscow, Independence’s Innovation team experts have shared their experience and knowledge on a number of the hottest trends in health care today. Discussion topics have included the importance of building new partnerships and collaborations, strategies for venture capital investments, and cultivating start-up health care innovators.

In addition, Independence has become a respected resource for community partners who want to learn more about how to use design thinking to solve real-life business problems. Through dozens of workshops hosted this year at the Independence Blue Cross Center for Health Care Innovation, health care professionals have learned techniques and behaviors based on the key principles of Independence’s innovation toolkit.

Independence’s Innovation team has also led health care innovation initiatives and collaborations with all of the major academic institutions in the Philadelphia area.  Additionally, several of the team’s professionals are adjunct professors at area universities in innovation and finance.
