Independence Blue Cross helps consumers sign-up for Insurance before December 15 deadline

Enrollment events planned throughout region

Philadelphia, PA – At Independence Blue Cross (Independence), we know that education and engagement around the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is essential. That’s why we are meeting consumers where they live, work, and play to ensure that everyone knows how they can obtain the safety and security of health insurance.

Members who would like to shop or make changes to their plan need to update their Marketplace application by December 15 in order to be sure they have the plan they want on January 1, 2015. Those who are enrolling for the first time will also need to enroll by December 15 in order to have coverage on January 1.

The Independence Express, our mobile education and enrollment center, will be traveling throughout the community to help consumers understand the best health plan options to suit their individual needs:

Open Enrollment for the new health plans runs from November 15, 2014 through February 15, 2015. Enrolling within this time frame allows consumers to avoid paying a penalty. However, consumers looking for health insurance to begin January 1, 2015 must enroll by December 15, 2014.
