Celebrates the United Way for 10 years of inspirational service to the region
Philadelphia, PA – For the tenth year in a row, Independence Blue Cross (IBC) is the presenting sponsor of the United Way Women’s Initiative Gala. The Gala celebrates the achievement of women in the region, and proceeds support programs like Girls Today, Leaders Tomorrow which aim to improve the lives of at-risk women and girls.
“The United Way and the Women’s Initiative play a significant role in improving the health of our region, and that’s why we’ve been their long time partner,” said Daniel J. Hilferty, president and CEO of IBC. “Like United Way, we are firmly rooted in this community and our priority is to contribute to the overall health and well-being of those we serve. There’s no better way to build healthy, strong, and thriving communities than to empower young people to lead. The Women’s Initiative – through programs like Girls Today, Leaders Tomorrow – is doing exactly that, by teaching, mentoring, and inspiring young women in our area to become tomorrow’s leaders.”
Independence Blue Cross has a proud history of investing in the United Way’s mission and their agencies. During the past 15 years, IBC and its associates have donated more than $29 million to the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania.
