Independence Blue Cross associates host virtual book drive to celebrate African American History Month

By February 1, 2017July 9th, 2020Community Volunteerism

In celebration of Black History Month, this February Independence Blue Cross’ Blue Crew volunteers are hosting a virtual book drive donating African-American literature to local students. Through Tree House Books, a literacy center and giving library based in North Philadelphia, the Blue Crew volunteers are helping to foster healthy attitudes towards reading and the appreciation of African-American culture.

Our associates are contributing to the Tree House Books Giving Library through a wish list registry on a national online marketplace. They purchase the books from the website and have them delivered directly to the library.

Blue Crew volunteers last year donated 50 books to the giving library in honor of African American History month.
