Bike share announces new discounts for Independence Blue Cross members.
Indego, Philadelphia’s popular bike share program sponsored by Independence Blue Cross, celebrated the system’s expansion to South Philadelphia with free group rides from the NRG Station at Pattison Avenue to the Navy Yard. Led by the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia on September 13, participants were treated to a free Indego ride, a complimentary helmet for the first 50 riders, to-go snacks, discounted monthly Indego passes, and a post-ride stretch led by Nava Yoga.
Indego’s expansion provides Navy Yard employees with another option to get to and from SEPTA’s Broad Street Line. Indego’s Navy Yard stations can be found at Crescent Park (Rouse Boulevard & Crescent Drive), Central Green (12th Street & Normandy Place), and 15th Street & Kitty Hawk Avenue – giving employees and visitors an opportunity to travel via bike around the 1,200-acre campus. Additional Indego expansion includes a new station at 17th and Locust Streets across from the Curtis Institute of Music.
In recent months, Indego also announced new discounts exclusively for Independence Blue Cross members. Members who live, work, or visit in the Philadelphia-area can ride Indego at 20 percent off the Day Pass and Indego365 using a members-only discount code.
Pass options and pricing are available to all riders at rideindego.com. Independence members can visit ibxpress.com for member discounts.
