
The Independence Blue Cross Foundation President Lorina Marshall-Blake accepted the 2017 Mercy Neighbor Award from the Mercy Neighborhood Ministries of Philadelphia, Inc. at an event attended by hundreds of supporters and donors.
Mercy honored Marshall-Blake for her decades-long commitment to community service and for her tireless efforts to help others in need. In addition to leading the Independence Blue Cross Foundation since its inception in 2012, Ms. Marshall-Blake is affiliated with more than 30 professional and civic organizations including the United Negro College Fund, the Urban Affairs Coalition, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and Albright College.
The mission of Mercy Neighborhood Ministries of Philadelphia, Inc. is to create partnerships and services that respond to the needs of those who are poor in the North Philadelphia Community, especially women, children, and persons with special needs.
