The Empowerment Dinner, held virtually this year on July 29, is an annual event that recognizes community champions who empower the undeserved in Philadelphia. Marshall-Blake was recognized for her decades-long commitment and dedication to improving the health of Philadelphia communities through innovation, thought leadership, empathy, and kindness.

A highlight of the event was the presentation of the 2020 Community Scholarship recipients. This year, 79 local high school students received scholarships totaling $100,000. Since 2003, the organization has collectively awarded nearly $800,000 in scholarships to more than 400 high school seniors.
