Independence Blue Cross and Independence Business Alliance hold supplier diversity workshop

Independence Blue Cross (IBX), in collaboration with the Independence Business Alliance (IBA), hosted a supplier diversity training event on May 23. The goal was to empower diverse businesses and foster professional opportunities within the community. The event featured presentations from key industry leaders, including IBX Supplier Diversity Director Chuck Stefanosky, IBA Executive Director Zach Wila, and Direct Choice, Inc. President and CEO Nick Lanzi.

The workshop covered practical tips for creating an effective capabilities statement as well as leveraging IBA events to establish relationships with large companies to enhance business growth. A segment of the session was dedicated to discussing the LGBT Business Enterprise (LGBTBE) Certification and its benefits.

IBX is committed to advancing economic equity through our Supplier Diversity Program, building alliances with businesses that are owned and controlled by women, veterans, people of color, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Likewise, the IBA is a business advocacy organization devoted to making our region an influential LGBTQ+ business community as an affiliate of the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC).
