Independence Blue Cross (IBX) received the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Pepperpot award in Public Service for the Better Together campaign, an initiative designed to combat the growing loneliness epidemic.
Research revealed alarming trends in social isolation, worsened by the Covid-19 pandemic. Better Together was designed to address loneliness through education, meaningful connections, and accessible support.
The campaign provides a wealth of resources, including social media content, articles, fact sheets, and videos. The website features a directory of nonprofit organizations across the Philadelphia five-county region, offering programs and opportunities to support social connections.
Since 1968, The Philadelphia chapter of PRSA has celebrated the Pepperpot Awards to recognize excellence in public relations. On December 4, the ceremony honored dozens of campaigns and professionals with awards across multiple categories. IBX vendor Brian Communications provided creative strategic support for this campaign.
