The March of Dimes will recognize Dr. Seun Ross, executive director of health equity at Independence Blue Cross, with the Health Equity Business Award during its 2023 Greater Philadelphia Salute to Women of Achievement event. The award honors Dr. Ross’s commitment to health equity, as well as the positive influence she has had on the mission of March of Dimes in the Greater Philadelphia area.
Dr. Ross’s work is focused on addressing the root causes of health inequity and creating healthier outcomes for every person in every community that Independence serves. She also supports the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association’s National Health Equity Strategy, which is focused on reducing racial disparities in maternal health. As part of this effort, Dr. Ross has forged collaborations with local maternal health organizations, such as Cayaba Care and Cocolife.black. She stands by the mission of March of Dimes and continues to lead the fight for the health of all moms and babies.
The Greater Philadelphia Salute to Women of Achievement campaign recognizes and celebrates a diverse group of remarkable women. All of the campaign’s honorees are positively impacting the community while also raising critical funds to support the mission of the March of Dimes. With the help of people like Dr. Ross, the March of Dimes can make sure that all pregnant moms have access to the care they need and that health inequities are addressed.
Dr. Ross will be honored at the awards presentation on October 11 at Main Line Health’s Women’s Specialty Center.
